  Finders, Keepers!
This popular keynote presentation addresses finding and keeping the foodservice industry's most important resource: its people. Traditional methods of recruiting may have worked in the past, but are becoming increasingly ineffective. Retaining employees often seems to be just as challenging, as managers try to determine what keeps employees on the job in an era when employee loyalty seems to be fading.

Learn:

  • Recruitment methods, both traditional and non-traditional
  • Proper screening - people, not applications
  • Interviewing skills
  • How to solicit references, make employment offers, and get commitments
  • Inexpensive, effective keys to training
  • How to mentor people, manage projects, and encourage good work habits
  • How to create a positive environment for self-motivation
  • Immediate, spontaneous and powerful communication skills

Don't miss this presentation! It's a MUST for anyone involved in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and supervising employees.

    Heroes of Hospitality
hero n., pl. -roes Any person admired for qualities or achievements and regarded as an ideal or model

"Heroes of Hospitality" is about such people who work in the hospitality industry. But you've probably never heard of these people unless you work with them. They are found in very "non-traditional" leadership positions - dishwashers, bussers, prep cooks, servers, shift supervisors, salespeople. And they're all from different segments of hospitality, in different types of operations, from different parts of the country.

Their common thread is their work that goes above and beyond the expected. All of these heroes share the ability to inspire others to achieve. These heroes create an energy in the workplace and change work for the better. They have encouraged others to follow a path of personal and professional success. Their peers, their bosses, or their customers gave their names.

"Heroes" will allow these leaders' stories to be told beyond the confines of their jobs and their companies. The stories, with their humor and heroism, with their drama and their realism, will give new meaning to leadership in hospitality, will help reshape the image of the industry and hopefully will provide all of us the inspiration to generate our own acts of heroism.
